John McCain, The Maverick himself, opens SNL!!
Well, well, well… The gong show continues. As if the Palinator makin’ an appearance wasn’t good enough… What little treat does SNL have for us this week? Holy Crap! It’s the maverick himself! Watching this skit, I kind of felt sorry for John McCain. Did he actually think that people would be laughing with him? I know I wasn’t!
OK… To say that I was laughing at him is a bit harsh. True - but harsh. To be fair, I think McCain carried himself quite well throughout this skit. He looked a hell of a lot more comfortable than the real Sarah Palin…
That said, who dressed this poor old fart? I swear to God his tie is wider than it is long! What the hell?!?
Highlights
4:24 - “This has been… an historic campain.”
Did he say “an historic”? Yeah that’s what we need… Another president that’s yet to complete “Hooked on Phonics - Level 1”
2:23 - “And what busy hockey Mom wouldn’t want to freshen up her home with Sarah Palin Ayers Fresheners”
Who is that on the Air Freshener bottle? He looks familiar to me but I can’t put my finger on it…
1:40 - “…with their Liberal agendas”
How many times has she said this thus far? A big pat on the back for the first reader that tells me!
1:20 - The “Palin in 2012″ T-shirt…
Ahh… For the sake of my humble blog… I sure hope so!
0:48 - That beautiful wink…
God I’ll miss that beautiful wink…

It looks like William Ayers when he was younger.
Ah! Good call S Hintz! Thanks!
Not that I’m a McCain supporter, but to be fair “an historic” is actually a legitimate way of saying it. Extremely OUTDATED, to be sure…just like him…but still, fairly legit. But that’s as far as I’m gonna go in defending him.
Obama 08!!
KT - Thanks for that!
I did a bit of research and came up with the following:
“… as of March 2008 — the phrase “a historic” is used on 5.1 million pages (68%), and “an historic” on 2.34 million pages (32%)”
There you have it! Apparently the Maverick isn’t totally wrong.
