Well, well, well… The gong show continues. As if the Palinator makin’ an appearance wasn’t good enough… What little treat does SNL have for us this week? Holy Crap! It’s the maverick himself! Watching this skit, I kind of felt sorry for John McCain. Did he actually think that people would be laughing with him? I know I wasn’t!

OK… To say that I was laughing at him is a bit harsh. True - but harsh. To be fair, I think McCain carried himself quite well throughout this skit. He looked a hell of a lot more comfortable than the real Sarah Palin…

That said, who dressed this poor old fart? I swear to God his tie is wider than it is long! What the hell?!?

Gold! Absolute gold! I thought for sure that this series of skits had “jumped the shark” after the real Sarah Palin appeared on SNL. Then… WHAM! They hit us with this beauty! How awesome is Will Ferrell? I don’t think people really appreciated how much he brought to SNL until he left. Think about all the characters he did back in the day… Alex Trebek, Janet Reno, that overzealous cowbell player from Blue Oyster Cult and of course… George Bush. Seeing him as The Big G again was great. He probably could’ve given us a few more trademark snickers but oh well… Tina was sweet too. I’m looking forward to seeing just how many more times NBC will try and milk the Tina Palin cow… I know I’m still thirsty!

Highlights

Since hearing this, I can’t shake the image of Barack Obama in a playoff with Phil Mickelson…

The REAL Sarah Palin on SNL!

The fact that the whole world knew this was coming didn’t matter. The latest video in this insanely popular SNL series delivered the goods! Not only did we get the REAL Sarah Palin… We also got the REAL Mark Wahlberg. I’m kind of disappointed that Mark didn’t ask someone to “Say hi to your Mother for me” but oh well… At least he didn’t make us look at his tighty whities.

Palin (real) was actually pretty good! She gets it. It’s comedy. Reading some of the comments below the Tina Fey/Sarah Palin videos on NBC’s website is painful:

“SNL should stop pushing it’s own political agenda.”.

“I don’t think NBC has the right to make light of the upcoming election.”.

IT’S A COMEDY SKETCH SHOW PEOPLE!!

You’d think that folks with such strong opinions could find a better site to voice their politics. Besides, I think you’re giving the cast of SNL way too much credit here… Political agendas? We’re talking about a program whose alumni include Adam Sandler and Chris Farley. I mean… I love these guys but come on!!

This clip was fantastic but not quite perfect. I would have liked to have seen Tina and Sarah face to face… maybe talking… maybe fighting… maybe kissing… Oh well…

Highlights:

I can’t quite tell what kind of animal that is in the hallway. Maybe an Emu? Mark Whalberg should’ve talked to it.

This is the third video in the SNL series. Once again, Tina Fey returns as Sarah Palin. Did anyone else hear that she was only supposed to do one of these? Thank God she signed on for more!! The last time SNL had ratings like this, Wayne and Garth were telling us how much the “Suck-Cut” sucks ! Joe Biden is portrayed by Jason Sudeikis. He does the character justice but we all know who’s bringin’ in the viewers!

I think this video goes on for a bit but there’s definitely some mavericky moments to cherish…

Holy Crap, Is that Queen Latifah?!?! Man… is there anything she can’t do?!?

Wonderful… That little nod she gives at the end of this line is spot on.

I love the kind of “ooohhh, maybe I shouldn’t laugh at that joke” reaction that this line gets. As a huge Conan O’ Brian fan, you know I laughed at this one.

She’s back!! Tina Fey returns as Sarah Palin on SNL. This time she’s face to face with the ever-blinking Katie Couric. Not quite as funny as the first one in my opinion, but there’s still some sweet moments. Tina Fey really is wonderful. I hope she’ll be making regular appearances on SNL this season. Can you imagine what would happen if John McCain and Sarah Palin get in. Four more years of Tina Palin! Four more years of strong ratings for SNL. Is it just me or can you feel the cast members swaying further and further right…

Hmmmm… This joke sounds familiar…

You know we’ve got to accompany tax reduction and tax relief for Americans also… having a dollar value meal at restaurants. That’s gonna help. This video has single-handedly made Saturday Night Live popular again. I can’t recall an SNL sketch ever generating this much hype. It’s almost note for note perfect. The only thing it’s missing is Fey doing Belushiesque backflips across the stage… Man that would be sweet… Whether you like it or not, this beauty isn’t going away anytime soon. I’m reminded of a certain Dave Chappelle skit that reached feverish levels of popularity a few years back…
